Parent Support

I deliver bespoke support focusing on the areas of SEND you choose and in a way that works for your family.

My work is charged hourly and is agreed in consultation with you in advance.

I offer personalised support and guidance including:

• Regular home visits working directly with your child around agreed learning targets, these visits will often follow Portage principles

• Modelling activities and strategies to support your child’s learning, exploration and play skills

• Integrating professional advice into your everyday routines and play

• Understanding sensory seeking or sensory avoidant behaviours such as restrictive diets, avoidance of some kinds of play, seeking certain types of movements or sensations and finding safe ways to meet these needs

• In depth discussions about challenging behaviours including practical suggestions and finding ways forward

• Support with creating plans to teach your child self-care routines such as dressing, toileting or managing meal times

• Support to understand sleep difficulties for children with additional needs and ideas to support a sleep routine

• Helping with paperwork, such as understanding EHC needs assessments or completing DLA forms

• Training or information sessions to teach you about a specific strategy or approach such as PECS, Intensive Interaction, using visual communication strategies

• Follow up coaching sessions to help you embed new skills or strategies

Fees

An initial hour-long visit to discuss current difficulties or concerns, including reading of up to 3 reports prior to the visit and production of a written next steps document £90

All further services are charged at £45 per hour.

Visits can be at home or at a mutually agreeable place. Some support can be offered virtually. Work outside a 20 mile radius of Ely, Cambridgeshire is charged at an additional 25p per mile. This will be discussed and agreed in advance.
